I didn't spend much time on this blog while visiting family and friends in WA. Here's just a small sampling of what we did while we were there.
Day 18 - June 24 A relaxing day. Ed made turkey noodle soup and I made Peanut Butter Vegetable Soup. Everyone (but me) played Apples to Apples. I read the rest of my book.
Day 19 - June 25 Grandma & Grandpa took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge to spend the night. The kids really enjoyed the indoor water park. G & G endured the splashing, the noise, and the large group of kids so their grandkids could have fun. Ed and I relished in the alone time and the quiet. We went downtown Olympia, shopped in the boutiques, had lunch at Anthony’s Homeport, had some local ice cream, bought a few groceries and rented a movie (Safe Haven) at Top Foods.
Sweet family of deer in backyard.
View from restaurant with the storm rolling in. Started pouring as we ate.

Day 20 - June 26 Ed went back downtown in the am to get coffee and bring back an omelet to share. We relaxed in the afternoon, then the family returned from the Lodge. That evening Ed and I went north to our friend's Jan’s and Carlton’s house. We visited with Jan's daughter Janae (oh my; all grown up!) and her daughter, Lexi, then went out for a Thai dinner with Jan and Carlton. Came back to Oly. around 9:00 to visit with Marshall and Miriam. I started to watch a quirky movie called “Goodbye Solo” before bed.
Day 21 - June 27 I watched the rest of the movie I had started (too sleepy to stay up and watch it all!) and visited more with Marshall and Miriam. Ed and Bill brought the camper poles in to a shop to be reinforced and then later ran around town together with Bill’s business errands. Teresea made potato soup and cornbread for lunch. She and I went to Jay’s Produce Stand to get some fruit and veggies. I made mashed potatoes and garlic bread with the salmon for dinner.
Day 22 – June 28 Marshall’s Birthday. I made pancakes and hash browns for a late birthday breakfast. Ali and I made a yellow cake from scratch, then went to a Beauty College in town for pedicures. We stopped at the Farmer’s Market for some green beans and bananas. We came back to frost the cake and help prepare dinner. We all celebrated Marshall’s birthday before they had to head back home.
Happy Birthday, Marshall!
Make a wish.
